Price of Gold Skyrockets

The price of gold held fairly steady at $300 per ounce during the five year period from 1998 to 2002, then began to rise at an ever increasing rate, passing $500/oz at the end of 2005.  By early 2007 it had reached $650/oz, where it paused through the summer.

Since then the price has skyrocketed, nearing $950/oz by late February.  Traders fully expect the price to keep rising, breaking the $1000/oz mark in the next few weeks.

Just as a point of reference, when many of these charms were produced in the 1960's, the price of gold was $35/oz!

Gold has always been a good investment in uncertain economic times.
